Activities at and around GMU

The Center for Study of Public Choice normally has space available for three or four scholars interested in undertaking research in the fields of public choice, constitutional economics, and the political economy of public policy.

Visitors normally apply by writing or e-mailing the Center's director of visitor programs (Professor Roger D. Congleton) about their proposed visit and their plans for research and study. While at the Center visitors are expected to participate in center programs (chiefly weekly seminars) and to work more or less regular hours. A short report on publications and other progress during the visit should be turned in before returning home.
The Center for Study of Public Choice is located in Carow Hall and in the Buchanan House along the East edge of the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University (GMU).

George Mason  University is located at the intersection of  Rt 123 (Chain  Bridge Road) and Braddock Road, just south of the town of Fairfax.
Carow Hall is located on the East side of campus, just off Shennendoah Lane, which can be reached from  either Roberts Road or Patriot Circle. ( Map Q , MAP )

Taxi rides to the Center from Northern Virginia's two airports take about a half hour and cost about 40 dollars (except during rush hour). A CUE bus runs from the Vienna Metro station to GMU several times an hour.
